Webkinz Deluxe Membership

Webkinz has a new membership.  The key is that it costs more money.  It reminds me of Club Penguin and I am a little annoyed about it.  Isn’t it bad enough that I spend a ton of money on mini stuffed toys to get new codes?  Now Webkinz wants me to pay a fee each month for added features?   Don’t the know that we are in a recession and that many parents are hurting enough already?  Do they really think that we need to be begged for more?  It is one thing to reward your child with a Webkinz pet when they have gone above and beyond but now Webkinz wants me to pay each month for these special privileges but what if the kids are not good that month?  I am still rewarding them!  Some of the features that are featured are:

  • A gift box including an amazing exclusive piece of clothing, available ONLY to Deluxe members
  • Special access to a Deluxe activity page in the Today’s Activities section of Webkinz World
  • Access to the Deluxe members-only GOLD channel on the Webkinz phone
  • 3000 eStore Points to spend at the Webkinz eStore (awarded to the purchasing eStore account)

Oh and lets not forget that they will give you a hat as well.  This hat is to provide free marketing for Webkinz when your child wears it all around town.  Did I say free?  What I mean is that when you pay for the membership you get a hat.

Now the annual membership is a bargain at $45.  I do not think that you are getting all that much for your $45.  Do not forget that it is $45 plus any pets your child wants in the real live store.  What a completely huge scam! For those of you who have read my blog for a while you know that I love Webkinz.  I enjoy playing it myself, the kids love it all and it is good clean fun.  the thing is that for the performance of their site I do not feel like I should pay $45 a year!  I just feel that they are getting a little too big for their britches.

Webkinz News

For those of you who have not noticed the Webkinz Newz has a new name. It is now called the Kinzville Times. Nothing but the name has changed. It is still your place to grab a sneak peak of all of the Webkinz World happenings. I know I know why would they do such a think… Becca has the answer!

Webkinz has started a sister site titles Webkinz W Newz.  On this new site there is up to the minute newz, contests to be won, a store to buy new things and information about Webkinz foundation.  This site is new and worth exploring.  I hope that they add more on this page.  I think that it will have a lot of resources for parents and kids alike!

Webkinz Snowflakes are back

Webkinz Winterfest

It is that time again, Winterfest!  Webkinz World is full of snow.  As you are in your room make sure that if you see a snowflake floating by you click on it.  This is only happening for a limited time.  From January 12 until January 18.  According to Webkinz there will be some of your favorite prizes from last year and even some new and exciting prizes!  You never know what you will get so be sure to hop on into Webkinz World and join in the Winterfest!

Webkinz is Letting Me Down

While I am sad to admit it I play in Webkinz World. My kids have more money in Webkinz World then they could ever spend! I find it fun to play. Many of the games are the same games that you find elsewhere… so why not play for the kids. I love to play Where’s Wacky. It is a great memory game that keeps me on my toes. It also makes the kids try and try to beet my high score. Of course they have not done it yet, but it does keep the fun in it.

The trouble is lately Webkinz will either not load at all or once it does the games are not playing up to speed. This has been quite disappointing. During nap time I come to the computer and say ok… I will allow myself one quick game of Where’s Wacky, then I will fold the laundry. Every time for about a month now that I have done this the site does not load or work properly. While I can handle the disappointment the kids are not as mature. They are mad! With all of the money that Webkinz brings in for Ganz one would think that they could afford to have their system working properly.

COME ON WEBKINZ… QUIT LETTING US ALL DOWN!!

Webkinz New Pets

Webkinz is at it again! They have a few new pets for your little one to adopt. Abigail already brought home the new dolphin. It travels in a little bubble when it is not in a water room. She has been quite impressed with it. It was hard for her to pick though. She thought about the clown fish and the blue tiger fish but the dolphin won! There are other new Webkinz to be brought home. I personally like the dainty hummingbird but there are still others to pick from. Emma keeps begging for the new pink dog but I am sure that she would settle for the white one if we brought one home. The porcupine and buffalo would also be a welcomed friend. It will be hard for Emma to pick which one to bring home next.
