Spring Break Survival Guide: Day 7

So we are 7 days into Spring break and I have to say that it has gone much better so far then I expected.  I think that we all may just makeemma-haircut-4 it out of this one alive.   Today is beauty day.  So far I have cut Emma’s hair.  It had become so long that she was sitting on it.  I had to fix it and make it a little more manageable for a 5 year old.  I have told my children that you need a license to cut hair.  This was because when Abigail was 4 she began to cut her own hair.  Since then we have had times when she cut her hair, Emma’s hair and most of her stuffed pet’s hair.  We had to do something.  So we told her that the law says that you have to have a liscense to cut hair in NY.  Now do not get me wrong.  I know that you do have to have a license but today this became an issue.  As I got out my scissors and began to cut Emma’s hair I was reminded that I should have a license.

After assuring Emma that it was not something that she should call 911 for; I began to cut.  I have to say that she is completely confused as to why it is that I can cut her hair.  I told her that moms can cut their own child’s hair or a friend but only moms.  I think that I have left her in a complete and utter state of confusion!  I hope that she completely understands that it is only something that us mommies can do.  I guess time will tell.

Either way what is done is done and it took up some time.  From here we have plans to do out toe nails in hope for warmer weather and perhaps we will do finger nails also.  I think that by this point the day will be done and daddy will be home.  Let’s hope that he comes home a little early.  I am just about Spring break broken.  I so long for Monday when that beautiful yellow bus pulls up to the bus stop yet again.  I have already begun to pray for a speedy summer.

To Cut Or Not To Cut?

hair

This is in fact the question.  My hair is REALLY long right now and I am tossed on what to do about it.  There are a few things at play here.

  1. I like it short but everyone I know says that they hate it when I cut it short… What do I do?
  2. I think I need it dyed!  I have NEVER dyed my hair and I am very scared.  I know women do it each and every day but I just have never wanted to.  That is until I found a few… OK a little more then a few gray hairs!
  3. The cost is huge.  I know that I am worth it but with the move I am trying to save every penny I have.  I think that a rug is a better way to spend $80 then on my hair.  I think that this is in part due to being a mommy.  We start to think that everyone else in the family is more important.  I just am so not sure what to do.
  4. I think that if I grow it a little longer I can  donate it.  This puts us back to number one though and I just am not sure that I want a short haircut again!

As you can tell it is just all so complicated!  I am sure that I will go and get a bunch of hair chopped off soon.  I guess I just have to talk myself into it first!

Becca Cosmetics Half moon brush

Is Becca Cosmetics new half moon brush worth it?becca-brush2

Becca Cosmetics has come out with a new half moon brush.  It is made from goat hair and synthetic fibers.  This brush is nice and wide so it is great for cheeks, neck, face and even your shoulders if they are showing in January.  You can tell by the feel of this brush that it is a higher quality then most other brushes.  This brush also makes application of powders and bronzers effortless.  The only thing that I do not like about this brush is the price.  I think that $45 is a bit much for a brush.  Perhaps it is because I am a mom and I can think about 100 other things that I would rather have spent $45 on or perhaps it is because I am looking at the total global economic state.  I just think that many of us need things like food and gas in our cars more then we need a $45 makeup brush!

Becca Cosmetics – New Glossy Lip Tint | Angel Kisses

Well I have purchased another Becca Cosmetics product to review. Becca Cosmetics new glossy lip tint angel kisses. I think that it is quite wonderful. To start with it has a strawberry taste to it that makes your lips delicious for you and anyone else who has to pleasure to taste them. It was a great added bonus to this product.

Angel kisses is a wonderful new gloss. As we already know I love lip gloss. It is so sexy and stays shiny for much longer then plain lipstick. Angel kisses has a faint tint of color but I have used it as a clear coat. Last night I colored my lips in with my favorite lip liner. I just love to way the color looks. After that I was able to put angel kisses glossy lip tint over it to make it shine and pop. I cannot wait until I can use it again! I am thinking it will be great over some of my lip stick colors also. I did think that $23 was a little high price wise although I did notice that you use less of it then some other brands which will remain nameless. As always you can go to www.beccacosmetics.com to purchase this product or search it in Google. Be warned though it is currently sold out on their website. It is worth searching for though!

Becca Cosmetics Product Review- New for Fall

There are great new colors at Becca Cosmetics. I decided to try the NEW Avalon Palette. This palette included 2 powder eye colors, 1 cream eye color, 1 cream blush, 1 eye liner and a dual-ended brush. I have found that these colors are great for the fall. I really love the cream eye color. It feels light on my eyes once it is dry. It all lasts through the day without reapplying. The eye liner is great too. It goes on smooth without any clumping. I think that for the price it is worth it! You are going to love it!

How To apply Lip Gloss

Woman applying cosmetics to her lips.Image via Wikipedia

Let’s Begin

  • Choose a high-quality quality lip gloss like Becca Cosmetics Cherry Bomb. It is wonderful for girls who want to bring some attention to their lips.
  • Use a mirror to help you apply a good amount of lip-gloss on the tip of the wand. If your gloss is in a lip gloss pot, use a thin brush.
  • Softly purse out your lips and work in the gloss. Make sure you stay in the lines don’t apply outside the lip-line. Using a lip pencil will make this task easier.
  • GOOD TIP Form Mom* Place your finger inside your mouth and pull outward after application. This will help you so that the gloss doesn’t get on your teeth.

Do’s

  • To prevent mistakes, you often can’t feel a mirror is highly recommended!
  • Relax and take your time, if you rush you will get bad results and badly applied lip-gloss looks horrible.
  • I think that lip-gloss with wands might be easyer as they provide more application control.
  • Choose the right color for the occasion make sure the outfit, and of course your skin tone all flow.
  • For full lips – try using lighter shades this will give you nice results.
  • For thin Lips – Try a high colored gloss pinks and reds to make your lips appear fuller.
  • If you have someone in you life, find out their favorite color & flavor, like strawberry or cherry! They’ll love it and it will keep them coming back!

  • If you want lip gloss that stays on the whole night
    • First apply chap stick and keep it on for 5 min.
    • Next wipe if off with a wet towel
    • Repeat step one – than apply gloss on top of chap stick – this works like a charm for the the woman that is going out for a night on the town or for the girl that has that special someone the tends to make you gloss disappear.

Don’t

  • Pucker your lips. If you do not you will get lip-gloss in your mouth
  • Lipstick is not lip-gloss. Lip-gloss has a shine. Lipstick is relatively matte.
  • Lip-gloss outside the “lines” lipline is very unattractive!
  • After you apply your gloss don’t blot your lips, you will loose shine and negate the purpose of your gloss!
