Weight Loss: Falling Off The Wagon

The past few weeks I have been having a terrible time.  I have fallen off of the wagon.  I think in fact that the wagon is dragging me and running me over.  Today, for about the 100th time in the past 3 weeks, I am going to make an effort to jump back onto the waggon an bring it all back under control.  I have do ne so well and I just cannot throw it all away now.  I must continue on and be a success.

Here is my action plan for the day:

  1. Eat breakfast.  I know it seems simple but I am not a morning person and I have tons or trouble getting up and eating.  I have already accopmplished this goal so I am happy to say that I can check this one off.
  2. Make a list of things to do today so that I will not be tempted to eat badly.
  3. Plan out meals for the remainder of this week.  I just know that if I can go into the rest of the week with a plan I will be more successful.
  4. Eat a healthy lunch.  I keep telling myself that this does mean not licking the peanut butter knife!  That is a really hard thing for me.
  5. Take the kids to the park and walk while they play.  This does not always go as planned but I will give it a shot.
  6. Look back at why I started this journey in the first place.  I am hoping that this will help me remember why I want it as well as show me just how far I have come.
  7. Think of one good thing about myself.  I will admit that I have been in a funk.  Perhaps some Pollyanna thinking will help to pull me out of it!
  8. Eat ice cream.  I kow this sounds rather odd!  I of course mean my Skinny Cow ice cream.  Ending a good day with a reward seems to keep me focused.
  9. Weight myself.  It has been about a week and I am sure that after this weekend I have gained about 10 pounds.  Sure some of it is water but you can only use that excuse for so long!
  10. Try… This is a big one.  I am going to remember that is at first I do not suscees… try try again!

I am off to what I am hoping will be a good day.  Let’s hope that the wagon slows down a bit so that jumping back on is a little easier.

  1. Becca, what exercise do you do? Good luck with your diet?

  2. Becca says:

I have been walking. I shattered my foot and even walking is quite painful. I know that exercise is certainly important. I am just at such a loss of exercise that does not involve my foot! Thanks for the visit. I hope to see you again!

  3. EliKen says:

The effort is definitely important. Exercise is just a portion of the program for most of us, the food intake is most important. Every day presents a new challenge….

  4. Lose Arm Fat says:

I find that eating 6 meals throughout the day really keep my metabolism going instead of forcing it to stop and go by eating three meals. So I try to eat tiny meals 5 or 6 times a day. Doesn’t always work out though.

  5. Kelly says:

The number one thing I do is eat protein in the morning. Just making this change will help you lose weight. I shoot for 20-30 grams, it’s a lot – I often drink protein shakes to get that much.

If I feel like I’m losing focus on my diet, I let my self relax on other things, but stay focused on this goal. Focusing on one thing really helps and this one seems to work.
