I have been wearing my Sketchers Shape-ups for about two weeks now. Please understand that Sketchers did not provide me shoes or money to write this article although I wish they would! Either way I paid the full retail price of $99 plus tax for mine. I know it is a lot but the reasons are simple.
- I shattered my arch about one and a half years ago. I have extreme pain and burning in my foot all of the time. The Dr. said that a rocker bottom soled shoe would imobilize my foot. This would reduce some of the nerve pain that was occuring. Right away I went to the expensive shoe store and tried on shoes rangin from $250- $1,000. No, that is not a typo, I said $1,000! NONE of them fit. Because of where my foot broke the in step of that foot is very high. I walked away crying that I would never wear shoes again. Then while Christmas shopping I stopped and tried on the Sketcher Shape-Ups and guess what… THEY FIT!
- Another reason is that I am weight watching as many of you know. In addition to a reduction in pain these shoes are supposed to help firm you butt and legs.
- The third reason I plunged into a $99 pair of shoes was that they were more stylish then the $1,000 pair I could not afford. I was also drawn to them because they make Sketchers Shape-Ups boots and Mary Janes. This means that I can have a shoe that reduces the pain in my foot and it can be something other then a sneaker.
So back to the now! I have been wearing these sneakers for two weeks now. I am SO happy with them. The nerve in my foot is feeling some better, my butt and legs are sore showing that they do something and they have enabled me to walk as a form of exercise. I just do not know what I would do without my Sketchers Shape-Ups! I am in love… I think I should stock poile them for when they are not cool anymore!

The picture you’ve included is MBT not Skechers Shape Ups! Other than that i’m glad you like your Skechers Shape Ups! I wear them too and they are so comfy and they’ve toned up my legs loads!
I also have the sketcher shoes, I broke my foot last year and since I have a lot of trouble with both pain and walking for any distance. These shoes work, I am not sure of the technology but I can tell you it works (also I am short and they make me about 2″ taller — nice feature ! )
just a note I like the new look of ask becca
I was looking at the sketchers and the reebok shoes as well. Did u try on the reebok; they just look normal where as the sketchers look like they actually might do something for these legs and but of mine!!!
Marie I have not tried the reebok ones. These were recomended by the Dr. because the bottom rocks. This enables me to walk with less pain on my foot. The reeboks do not rock. I do not think that they would help my foot. They may do something for the rest of me though!
I bought a pair of the Reebok Easy tones. They are bright pink (which makes me feel as if everyone is staring at my feet when I walk) but thought they looked more natural than the Sketchers. I’ve been wearing them for about 2 weeks and although they do seem to feel like they are working, the company does advice that you should only wear them for walking. That also means avoiding any lateral motion, like a gym class may include. I’ve read reviews that you need to be careful on what you step on when you’re walking with them because anything sharp can pop the air balls on the sole of the sneaker. So, this makes me anxious when I’m walking with them outside that I may accidentally step on a branch or small piece of glass. I’ve also noticed that one of the shoes have scraped the back of my foot and even though I put on a bandaid it’s still painful. I will continue wearing them because of the price I paid, but I have ordered a pair of the Gray/Pink Sketchers Shape Ups. I won’t have to worry about air pockets popping and I hope they are more comfortable. I hope this review has been helpful.
Marie I have read some blogs about the reeboks and many people say that the air bubble pops and that you can not wear them all of the time. The sketchers have been great! They also add about 2 inches to my height!
Thank you so much for letting us all know about the reeboks. I am loving my sketchers and will soon be buying the Mary Jane shoes in black. I cannot tell you how great my foot is feeling since I bought these shoes. They are also helping me to loose some of my hips and thighs. I love them!
I’ve heard that the toning shoe’s from Sketchers are great. I can’t say the same about Reebok though. They’re currently being sued by individuals who claim the EasyTone sneakers don’t actually improve your legs and butt like the company says they do. Sketchers hasn’t seem to have any complaints about their products and what they claim they do.
