Especially because they had a lifetime warranty, do they still do that? When I would send mine off to get repaired, or half the time they would just send you a new one, the company would send a little post card that said: this is your backpack, I'm having fun at camp! We re-used lunch "boxes", my daughter gave up the usual new backpack (and she's a teenager who always wants everything new!) It helped this year because I actually talked to them about how money was a little tighter this year and I asked them how we could reduce/reuse/recycle, etc. I felt a little uncomfortable having to approach the kids about this but it turned out to be a really good thing. Growing up there was not much money to spare, my needs were always met, but many times I was left without my wants. In the end, I think I am better for it because I understand that it's all just stuff and it's nice to have, but I'm fine without it. There is a huge difference between needs and wants.
