GoWear Fit: Is It Worth It?

I stumbled across the GoWear Fit and was completely lost.  I have never heard of it… Have you?  I am wondering if it is all worth it.  I did some research and discovered some very interesting things about it.

  1. You wear a band on your arm and by measuring all different things going on in your body it can tell you how many calories you are actually burning all day and night.
  2. It calculates the amount of calories you are taking in.
  3. You down load all of the information onto your computer and you are on your way.

According to GoWear Fit there are 3,500 calories in a pound of body fat.  So in order to loose a pound you have to burn 3,500 calories more then you consume!  Although this sounds like a lot even writing this post is burning calories!  The GoWear Fit system is a little price.  The cheapest I found it for was $179.  I would love to try it and give a review.  Perhaps the GoWear Fit gods will read this and let me try one out.  I think that this would be a great tool for my weight loss journey.

Do any of you have a GoWear Fit?  I am interested in hearing how it all works.

Will anyone recommends where I will get before-and-after photos of folks who have succedded in their seek for a higher form? Thanks all.

I saw this advertised or profiled somewhere and I was wondering about it as well. Almost sounds like one of those too good to be true things.

I wish that they would send me one to try. I guess that is a little unrealistic! Let me know if you try it out Debbie…

I do not know mom… Perhaps you should buy it, try it and let me know if it is worth it… I know I am funny! I am curious if it is worth the money though!

I just stumbled across this post while I was searching for blog posts about GoWear Fit. It is basically the same product as the BodyBugg, which they use on Biggest Loser. It doesn’t actually track the calories in automatically. You have to go to the website and enter your calories manually, and then you download the calorie burn data (along with sleep tracking and step tracking) to your computer from the armband. You can also get a separate display/wristwatch that will allow you to see the calorie burn and steps data in real time instead of waiting until you connect to the computer. The display is an extra 79.99.

As you can see I’ve been doing a lot of research on the subject ;) I ordered one yesterday and hopefully I’ll have it soon!

Is this the band they wear on “Biggest Loser”? They never talk about it, but it sounds like what I see on the show.

  8. Becca says:

Linda it is not the one on the biggest looser. I have looked on the biggest looser website wondering the same thing. I think that they are two similar brands that do the same things. Let me know if you look into it.

Chandra please let us know how it works out for you!

  10. The one on the Biggest Loser is called the Body Bugg. Also very pricey and you have to pay a monthly membership just get get access to the data on it.

  11. This sounds like a great product for those who keep track of calories daily. Keep posting with any results you get, I’d like to know more about it.

    Thanks

I don’t know about this ‘band’ thing. It sounds way to complicated. Yes, you must burn more than you eat, however, you can start slow and ease into a different lifestyle and lose weight. 10 minutes, say of spot training each day. that’s not a lot. Finding a meal plan is important; one that has variety, lots of food and doesn’t take away your favorites. Sure, there will be some cutbacks like fast food diners, less sugars, etc. But healthy alternatives are not hard to find.
