Check this out!

I stumbled upon this great post and wanted to share it.   When I first read it I though of my mother-in-law.  She is sometimes to quick to get annoyed at people about silly things.  I guess that we all are at times.  Do not get me wrong she is the nicest person I know and I consider her my best friend.  She is the person that I aspire to be each and every day!  I have been with my husband since I was 14 so she really is a second mother to me.  I admire her, respect her and look up to her.  As she is getting a little older I am finding that she is a little short on the patience for others.  I had her read it and she said she would have acted the same.  I want to know after you read this how you would react to this situation!

I just think that the message is so perfect.  I think that so many times we do things like this and there is just no need.  Check it out.  I would love to hear what you think!  http://whatisshakin.blogspot.com/2009/03/four-things-that-you-cannot-recover.html

  2. Hi Becca! I remember reading this last year and thinking “I hope I’m never that way with a stranger.” You never know who it may be.

    Happy Thursday!!

  3. I’ve read this before but always love to read it. Thank you for sharing and for coming to my blog!

I just read this story and loved it. I seem to remember reading something like this once before, but it’s good to read it again.

That’s an awesome post and I’m ashamed to say I would have done the same. I’ll think twice now before I get mad at a stranger because it’s possible that I too will be in the wrong. Thanks for sharing!

Tabitha I know what you mean. I never mean to treat people badly. I have been cut in line at the store before and acted not so nice. I tell the person, “you go ahead you must be in much more of a rush then I am!” They then feel bad and I feel bad. I just wish we all were able to communicate a little bit better about things! I think that it would make life a little easier.

Hi Becca! I never heard the story before. It was such a wise and deep story. I don’t know how I would react in that situation, but I am sure that I would feel really bad for the next few years! Thank you for the great link.

  11. Becca says:

tearosehome I had never heard this story either. It was quite wise and deep. I am sure that I would be annoyed and keep quiet just as she had. I would love to say that I would not but I am sure I would. Especially where cookies are concerned!

  15. Made me want to laugh and cry at the same time. VERY thought provoking to say the least!

  16. Becca says:

Alexis thanks for stopping by. You have a point that a lot of times things have to hit you in the face before you realize that the way you act is not 100% nice.

Mother Mayhem I cried and laughed too. I laughed the most because it reminded me of my mother in law and she was sad that it reminded me of her. It is Really something that got me thinking which is why I wanted to share it!

  18. Such a great post, Becca. I loved it too. A great reminder to all of us to keep things in perspective. Sometimes, anger can be such a waste of our time and energy.

    Great post and link!

Wow, what an great story to really bring a new perspective to how we treat others.
Sometimes I feel like maybe I’m taking the ‘higher road ‘by keeping quiet about things that annoy me- Yikes! This story opened my eyes to how I’m probably in the wrong in some of those situations.

Thanks for posting this link, it sure has given me a lot to think about :)
I hope I can learn that even in my silence I can be wrong!

Wow, this is really powerful. I admit, I am like the woman in the story and would have been upset if someone was eating my cookies. Thanks for the insight…I have to work on my patience with people everyday!
