Teapot Cake Recipe

Tea Pot Cake

Fun Teapot Cake Recipe:

Every tea party needs a teapot cake. Here is a simple, low talent cake that will make the party! The best part is that people will think that you slaved for hours!

Ingredients:

* Two boxes of cake mix

* Vanilla frosting

* M&Ms

* Card Stock or craft foam

* A Pyrex bowl

Instructions:

Step 1: Mix one of the cakes according to the instructions on the box.

Step 2: Pour the cake mix into a round bowl that you can bake with. I had a perfect Pyrex bowl.

Step 3: Bake until a fork comes out of the center clean. It will take a little longer then the time one the box. You really have to keep an eye on it!

Step 4: Repeat steps 1-3 with the second cake mix.

Step 5: Cool both cakes on wire racks.

Step 6: Place one cake onto a cake stand or plate. Make sure that the first cake is placed as if the bowl were right side up.

Step 7: Icing the top of the first half of the cake

Step 8: Place the second cake upside down on top of the first cake

Step 9: Icing the rest of the cake.

Step 10: Place M&Ms in any pattern that you want on the cake. We used a flower pattern. Go to http://www.m-ms.com/us/store/index.jsp to pick any colors that you want. You can even get a personal message engraved on them.

Step 11: Cut a spout and handle out of colored card stock or craft foam.

    I would like to know if you would be interested in gathering some tried and true recipes. I have a Sour Cream Coffee Cake that never seems to fail to please when I show up for gatherings. And it is amazingly easy. Also I have an easy recipe for a Brownie Pudding cake that my mother used to make in the winter months. It was served hot with ice cream or whipped cream or just some heavy cream poured over. I think it was one of those Jello pudding recipes from 30 years ago. I also would love to share the Cockeyed Cake recipe (with full props to the “I hate to cook cookbook”). Ever not have the time or money to run out to get a mix? The ingredients are what most people have in their homes (you will have to double check if you have cocoa powder as I do not think it is used as much since everyone likes to have everything pre-mixed and pre-made. Anyway- I am getting carried away…

    I am sure others have some quick and easy treats to share and I like to hear from other people what is tried and true. I know you are busy with Christmas countdown, but things like seasonal holiday favorites would be most appropriate…
